As we await the announcement of the winners for the Diary of a Whimpy Kid, national diary writing competition.

We decided to run our own in school contest and would like to say congratulations to our in school winners Evie, Junior and Tiana.

Thank you to all students who took part, the quality of work produced was outstanding.

We will update further as soon as we have any news regarding winners from the National Literacy Trust.





After almost 7 years as a Governor including 2 and a half as Chair of Governors at Chaucer School, Sarah Draper has stood down and will be leaving the Governing Body in February 2019. Sarah will continue her connection with the school by joining the Board of Trustees of the Tapton School Academy Trust.

Sarah said, "During my time as a Governor at Chaucer it has been wonderful to see the school go from strength to strength thanks to the hard work and commitment of the Headteacher and staff. I will miss spending regular time in the school and wish everyone, especially the students, continued success in the future"

Edward Highfield, who has been Co-Chair of Governors for the last 5 months will now become the new Chair of Governors at Chaucer School, serving a 2 year term. Laura Bawden, a current Governor will become Vice-Chair.

Edward said, “I’m really excited and proud to take on the role as Chair of Governors at Chaucer School. We’ve seen many improvements in recent years and I look forward to working hard to help parents, staff and students continue on this path of achievement”.
