We are excited to be able to offer a very exciting opportunity to language students in Y7, Y8, Y9 and Y10 language students.

Next year we would like to take a group of students to the Ardèche to take part in an adventure holiday. Students will take part in a kayaking adventure, camp in world renowned nature reserve and test their limits by taking part in an exhilarating ‘canyoning’ experience. Students will stay in PGL accommodation at Lou Valagran.

We first ran this trip in 2018 and it was a truly transformation experience for both staff and students.

The total cost of this residential visit will be £620 per person and our pupil premium students are entitled to a slightly discounted rate (details to follow). This price covers accommodation, travel, all meals and activities.

Each student will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of £120 which will need to be paid via Parent Pay by 1st May, 2019. The remainder of the fee can either be paid in full or in installments.

Cancellation of the trip: if a student/parent decides to remove a student from the trip no monies will be returned. If, however, the school decides it is inappropriate for the student to go on the trip a refund will be arranged.

Medical cancellation ie: broken bones or other medical reasons, monies may be returned. Students will need their own European Health Card – these can be ordered online free of charge.

We will be holding an information evening on Tuesday, 30th April in the main hall at 5.00 pm for further information and details of the visit. This will take approximately 30 minutes. Time will be available at the end for you to ask any questions you may have about the trip. Deposits will only be accepted from families who attend this meeting.

Parents can download the letter of interest below or collect a copy from the main office.

Following a change to the OfSTED inspection framework for September 2019 indicating that there will now be a quality of education judgement, there will be an additional training and development day (INSET day) for school staff on Friday 21 June to work across our Trust to further develop our practice and ensure that it is best placed to support our young people (students will not be at school on this day).

Friday 29th of March school will be holding a none uniform event to raise funds for Comic relief and the Sheffield based charity Roundabout. Students will be able to support this fundraising event in the below ways:

1. £2 to come in complete non uniform
2. £1 reduced price if students are wearing either comic relied clothes or Red (as Red is comic reliefs colour).

All students attending in non-uniform will need to pay £2 or £1 on the Gate that morning. Students not wishing to take part should be in full and complete uniform.
Please ensure students have all equipment (including PE kit if they have PE) then need for the day as normal lessons will be taking place. Please make sure you visit http://www.chaucer.sheffield.sch.uk/school-uniform/2-uncategorised/134-non-uniform-days
