Year 7, 8 and 9 Life

Life is a subject which helps prepare students for life after school. It covers aspects of the PSHEE and citizenship curriculum and is separated into 4 strands;

Learning and Thinking Skills
Interpersonal Skills
Financial Awareness
Emotional Wellbeing

Within these strands students cover a variety of short modules, often supported by specialist external providers.

Year 7 cover settling in, voting and democracy, antibullying, charities ( including a charity event for local charities), growth mindset, substance misuse, change management, financial awareness, respect and diversity and careers.

Year 8 cover Financial Awareness, grooming and sexual exploitation, Substance misuse, road safety, Rule of law, respect and diversity, sex and Relationship education, body image, careers and fearless.

Year 9 cover Finance, Homophobia, sex and relationship education, Rule of law, careers, campaigning and pressure group, Substance misuse and pay it forward.

Life aims to respond to issues that arise in the media and in the community alongside this scheme of work so current module may change.
