Years 10 & 11

In KS4 students are allocated a learning pathway which enables them to select a personal curriculum ideally suited to their aspirations and abilities. All students undertake GCSE's in English, Maths and ICT.  All students study at least two science qualifications usually Core Science and Additional science with some studying Additional Applied Science.  Some students study a third science GCSE.

In addition, students select other GCSE or equivalent qualifications from a wide range of choices available to each learning pathway. A significant number of our students study a modern foreign language.

Post 16 The school takes pride in the success of students as they move into the next stage of learning at college, in sixth forms and through apprenticeships.  In 2013, over 92% of Year 11 students successfully moved into courses at college and sixth forms and apprenticeships and work based learning programmes. An independent qualified careers adviser provides professional careers guidance to all students in their final year, and students benefit from a range of citywide initiatives to introduce them to the labour market and improve their job search prospects.
