Enterprise learning is a fundamental feature of provision at Chaucer. We strive to maximise the opportunities for entrepreneurial opportunities, the development of enterprising behaviours and vocational learning. We believe these are catalysts that fuel ambition support educational achievement and prepare students for lifelong self-sufficiency.

Enterprise learning is an entitlement for all students. We use a blended approach made up of dedicated days, small business opportunities, involvement with local and national initiatives and opportunities to work with a range of entrepreneurs and university student mentors on specific projects.

Taught aspects include basic business knowledge such as customer service, marketing and finance (including personal finance). During KS4 most students take a vocational course from a wide range available in school.

Students are encouraged to think of themselves as potential entrepreneurs. By taking part in enterprise initiatives such as The Big Challenge and others locally and nationally they all have opportunities to start a small business, receiving support from school staff and local entrepreneurs. Further information on these activities is available on this website.
