Return to school expectations.

Dear parent/carer

As we plan to return to school after the Easter holidays we are seeking your support in reminding your young person of our normal school expectations as we enter the summer term. These have been shared with you and students recently but we hope that this holiday period will allow you some time and opportunity to revisit the school expectations and indeed to allow you the opportunity to visit shops as they reopen to ensure students are in full school uniform and fully equipped for learning.

Please take the time to watch the short video below for further information.

As always thank you for your support

Chaucer School

Y11 Students Uniform

Year 11 students– as we are moving towards the end of the academic year, Chaucer school would like to ensure uniform standards are maintained with the highest expectations whilst at the same time applying an understanding and reasonable approach regarding Y11 students and their remaining time in school. With this in mind, we would like to share some reasonable adjustments to our school uniform policy for Y11 students only.

All Y11 students are expected to wear the following:

  • A white shirt and school tie.
  • Chaucer school blazer should be worn if students have an appropriately fitted blazer. Where this is not the case, students in Y11 can substitute their blazer for a blue or black jumper/sweatshirt without a hood.
  • Chaucer grey trousers or skirt should be worn where possible. If this is not possible then black trousers or skirt can be substituted. No jeans, ripped jeans or tracksuit bottoms allowed.
  • Footwear should be all black. No white or multicoloured footwear will be allowed.
  • No hoodies or outdoor coats/jackets can be worn in lessons.

Students in Years &, 8 & 9 will begin to access their live lessons from Monday 25th January. All students will be starting from week 1.

From Monday 25th January students can expect to receive five emails a day, from the members of staff who are due to teach them that day. Each email will include a link to the Microsoft Live Event, any resources or materials required to complete the lesson, and any further instructions as necessary.

Please see the timetables below for each year group.
